Imagine playing a key role in bringing innovative projects to life while advocating for those in need
. As a Planner/Grant Writer at Community Action of Lehigh Valley, you will have the exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by securing funding for programs that directly benefit our community.

You will collaborate closely with the Associate Executive Director for Planning to drive program planning and fund development. You will conduct research and provide data for new initiatives and focus on contract compliance, advocacy, community organizing, and community planning. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the financial and programmatic stability of programs within our agency, allowing you to make a tangible impact on the community.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

To excel in the role of a Planner at Community Action Lehigh Valley, you’ll need a mix of skills and experiences. A bachelor’s degree in a writing-intensive social sciences program or related field is a must, while a master’s degree in social sciences is preferred. If you have two to three years of nonprofit experience in program and fund development, along with grant writing skills, you’re off to a great start. Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential, as is a knack for problem-solving and attention to detail. Experience in public policy, research, and technical writing is beneficial, and the ability to project manage, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a team setting are crucial factors for your success.
